The Founders

The Kinley Institute was founded by David Kinley, Jr. He is licensed in New Jersey and Florida in Acupuncture and Physical Therapy. He is a graduate of the Tri-State College of Acupuncture and Occidental Institute for Chinese Studies and later advanced studies at the American College for Oriental Medicine and Homeopathy. In addition to his education and training within the profession of acupuncture, David Kinley previously received advanced education in pathology and doctorates in Mechanotherapy and Physical Therapy. He has completed additional certifications in acupuncture, Touch for Health Instructor utilizing acupressure and kinesiology, shiatsu, additional studies utilizing Master Tungs advanced acupuncture techniques, Bioset Allergy Techniques, Nutritional Counseling and Enzyme Therapy, Orthopedic physical therapy, hypnosis and biofeedback.

In 1973, he founded and was president of the Acup. & Mox. Assoc. of New Jersey, one of the founders and past president of the New Jersey Assoc. of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine as well as one of the founders of the American Assoc. of Oriental Medicine which has the largest membership of acupuncturists in the U.S. He assisted in the preparation and passage of numerous legislative acts relating to acupuncture, physical therapy and health insurance. In 1982, he was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Acupuncture Board of Examiners, Div. of the New Jersey Medical Board, which board had the responsibility to implement the law and establish regulations governing the profession of acupuncture.

In November 1993, he was awarded a plaque by the New Jersey Assoc. for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine for his outstanding contribution to the profession of acupuncture.

Recognition was also granted to David Kinley by inclusion in Who’s Who in America. The prestigious Marquis publication lists those names of person who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their own fields of endeavor who have thereby contributed significantly to the betterment of contemporary society.
Helen Kinley is licensed in New Jersey in Acupuncture and Physical Therapy. She is a graduate of the Tri-State College of Acupuncture and Occidental Institute for Chinese Studies. She has completed additional certification within the field of acupuncture. In addition to her education and training within the field of acupuncture, Helen Kinley previously received advanced education in pathology and doctorates in Mechanotherapy and Physical Therapy. She has completed additional certifications in acupuncture, Touch for Health, Instructor utilizing acupressure and kinesiology, shiatsu, additional studies utilizing Master Tongs advanced acupuncture techniques, Nutritional Counseling and Enzyme Therapy and Hypnosis. She was a past Board of Directors of the New Jersey Acupuncture and Mox. Assoc. for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Initially the Kinleys’ education and training included Physical Therapy, Hypnosis, Biofeedback and many other practices in pain management, initiated their studies in acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Since the late 1950’s to the present they have striven to broaden their knowledge in an effort to successfully treat the wide range of patient success, Physicians from numerous medical specialties refer patients to the institute as well as Medical agencies, rehabilitation organizations and insurance carriers who often request consulatations, independent Medical acupuncture examinations and second opinions, as well as treatment
